At Blue Action Lab, we believe the future of the ocean starts in the classroom, in the field, and in the community. That’s why we have built one of the most comprehensive Blue Economy education and workforce programs in The Bahamas—inspiring the next generation, training tomorrow’s leaders, and creating real opportunities in sustainable marine livelihoods.

Tides of Change: Inspiring Young Minds. Through our Tides of Change program, our team brings the Blue Economy to life for students across Grand Bahama. In classrooms, we spark curiosity about queen conch restoration and teach the importance of sustainable fisheries.

Working hand-in-hand with Waterkeepers Bahamas, the Cadet Program gives students hands-on field and lab experience, where they gain practical skills in restoration science. Beyond the classroom, we are also creating new educational materials to share knowledge with the wider community—making ocean sustainability accessible to all.

Ecopreneur Fellowship: Building Blue Business Leaders. This summer, we launched our first Ecopreneur Fellowship, designed to help young entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses in the Blue Economy.

With international partners like Founders Factory and local collaborators such as the Tourism Development Corporation and The Bahamas National Trust, fellows gain tools, mentorship, and connections to grow ideas into scalable ventures. By supporting innovation that benefits both the environment and local communities, the Fellowship is fueling a new wave of ocean-focused entrepreneurship.

Workforce Development: Training for Tomorrow. Our aquaculture team—working alongside Florida Atlantic University and queen conch expert Dr. Megan Davis—offers practical workshops in conch restoration. These sessions share proven techniques with local NGOs, scientists, and community members, strengthening local expertise while building a skilled workforce to power The Bahamas’ sustainable Blue Economy.
