PROGRAMS

We currently offer four educational programs supporting students from primary school age through their early career

TIDES OF CHANGE & YOUTH PROGRAMS

Blue Action Lab is offering Tides of Change school tours to Conservation Cove, inviting schools from across The Bahamas to experience restoration efforts firsthand. These tours provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn about marine conservation and the Blue Economy in action. Through our Tides of Change program, we also visit classrooms to teach about queen conch restoration and sustainable marine livelihoods. In partnership with FAU and Waterkeepers Bahamas, our Cadet Program gives students hands-on experience in the field and lab, building practical skills in marine science and aquaculture.

ECOPRENEUR FELLOWSHIP

In summer 2025, Blue Action Lab launched the pilot of our Ecopreneur Fellowship. The program is designed to help the next generation of entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses in the Blue Economy. Through partnerships with international groups like Founders Factory and local collaborators such as the Tourism Development Corporation and the Bahamas National Trust, fellows gain the skills, resources, and connections they need to grow and scale their companies. This hands-on experience exposes them to real-world needs and opportunities in the Blue and Green Economies. It also supports innovation that benefits the environment, strengthens communities, and drives lasting economic impact.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: UB INTERNSHIPS AND BAL SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

Our aquaculture team works alongside Florida Atlantic University and Dr. Megan Davis, a leading expert with 50 years of experience, to provide hands-on training in queen conch restoration. Through these workshops, we share proven methods and techniques with local NGOs, scientists, and community members. This knowledge exchange strengthens local capacity, empowers communities, and builds a skilled workforce to support sustainable fisheries and the growth of The Bahamas’ Blue Economy. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Conservation Cove’s annual Community Day brings people of all ages together for a vibrant celebration of Bahamian culture, creativity, and environmental stewardship. Through dynamic activities, hands-on learning, and community collaboration, Blue Action Lab showcases its commitment to connecting people with conservation in meaningful, memorable ways. Beyond this annual event, Conservation Cove also offers private and corporate tours that immerse groups in Bahamian ecosystems, inspire team connection, and highlight innovative solutions.
