Since our launch in 2023, the Blue Action Accelerator (BAA) portfolio has been rapidly growing, now totalling x15 forward-thinking companies driving ocean-based climate solutions.
This month, we are proud to profile five innovative startups that Blue Action has supported through its primary platform Blue Action Accelerator or through it’s Vancouver-based sister program, Blue Action Canada. Each of these companies is harnessing the power of the sea to tackle urgent environmental challenges. Celerity Craft (Blue Action Canada) is developing Dynamic Air Cushion Vessels to navigate shallow and debris-filled waters without harming marine ecosystems.
Acua Ocean (Blue Action Accelerator) uses hydrogen-powered, unmanned surface vessels to monitor seagrass habitats and marine infrastructure, helping protect vital blue carbon stores.Ocean Ledger (Blue Action Accelerator) maps and measures coastal ecosystems using satellite data and AI, making marine conservation faster, cheaper, and scalable.
Soarce (Blue Action Accelerator) turns seaweed into high-performance, non-toxic chemicals for textiles and industry—sustainable, innovative, and ocean-friendly.
Offshore Designs Ltd (Blue Action Canada) builds robotic ship hull cleaners that reduce emissions and prevent the spread of invasive species in the shipping industry.
