COAST, global startup investor Founders Factory and climate investor Blue Action have opened applications for the second cohort of Blue Action Canada, a hyper-focused ocean venture accelerator for early-stage startups in the blue economy.

Based in British Columbia, the 12-week program will support up to eight early-stage ventures working across maritime and port innovation, coastal infrastructure and adaptation, nature and biodiversity, and defence/dual-use technologies. Founders gain hands-on operational support alongside access to a global network of investors, governments, and industry partners.
The inaugural cohort demonstrated the power of this approach, attracting over $2M in early-stage funding, securing commercial pilots, and generating nearly $1.74M in pre-order sales through international connections. Alumni include Seacork, Open Water Solar, Ocean AID and Celerity Craft.
"Canada has all the ingredients to lead the next wave of the global blue economy — world-class research, deep maritime expertise, and an extraordinary coastline. Working alongside COAST, Blue Action Canada is unlocking that potential by backing founders who are building real solutions for climate resilience, maritime innovation, and ocean sustainability. We are proud to be returning for a second cohort and connecting Canada’s most ambitious ocean entrepreneurs to global markets, capital, and commercial partners." Rupert Hayward, President and Chairman of Blue Action.
The 2026 cohort will be supported by the Canadian Ocean Supercluster, with the program launching later this year and culminating in a residential showcase alongside Vancouver Web Summit.
Applications close February 15, 2026
