From Ideas to Impact: Blue Action at the FutureBlue Launchpad in Barbados.

This March, Blue Action joined partners in Barbados to help power the FutureBLUE Launchpad—accelerating a new wave of Caribbean climate and ocean innovators from idea to investment readiness. Through the intensive Innovator-in-Residence programme, entrepreneurs were immersed in a week of hands-on mentorship, ecosystem engagement, and rapid iteration to transform bold ideas into scalable solutions.

Working alongside The Government of Barbados’ innovation arm FutureBARBADOS as well as regional partners including Export Barbados, Conservation International, Walkers Reserve and WIRRED, Blue Action brought its full innovation pipeline to the table. Through the Blue Action involvement, teams stress-tested their concepts, refined their solutions, and navigated the realities of operating in small island contexts.

The week culminated in a high-energy Innovation Showcase, where ventures presented investor-ready solutions to a network of stakeholders—marking a critical step in turning Caribbean innovation into global impact. Congratulations to Grenada Grows and WavePiston for winning the pitch competition and each walking away with a $15,000 prize.
